There are very few professions in the world as rewarding as being a teacher. And teaching on the college level is the pinnacle of achievement. Earn your college teaching degree and you might find yourself at the head of your very own advanced-level class!

Teaching is one of those magical professions in which anything and everything is possible. All it takes is one motivated teacher and a group of willing college students to make incredible advances in our world. And when you earn your college teaching credentials, you can be the catalyst that sparks this positive change. College teaching professionals enjoy a number of benefits to their profession. One of those benefits is variety. Here are just a few of your college teaching responsibilities.

College Teaching: It's Just Part of the Job

  • Curriculum Design. As a college teaching professional, you will create the curriculum that guides your students to success.
  • Assessment. Your college teaching training will prepare you to grade your students' work and provide encouragement.

But before you can stand at the head of the class, you need to earn your college teaching certificate from an accredited program. This involves college level teaching preparation through a campus or online program. Here is what the U.S. Bureau of Statistics lists as some considerations for your college teaching program.

The College Teaching Degree

  • Program Length. The college teaching credential is conferred after four years of doctoral-level training.
  • Career Outlook. College teaching positions will grow faster than the national average through the year 2014.
  • Expected Salary. College teaching professionals can expect to earn between $36,000 and $72,000 per year.
